What are Microgreens?

Microgreens are the seedlings of plants, which would eventually grow into vegetables. They are harvested and eaten as seedlings and carry a powerful blast of nutrition and fibre.

We all remember growing cress on a paper towel and Microgreens are just a version of that.

Microgreens are much easier to incorporate into a wider range of foods than cress - our Broccoli has a very mild taste which goes with everything, including fruit smoothies.

Researchers at the USDA Agricultural Research Service found that in general, Microgreens contained considerably higher levels of vitamins and carotenoids—about five times greater—than their mature plant counterparts. The added nutrition from wool as a growing medium (slow release Nitrogen and other trace elements) can only be a good thing! In our own trials we found that Microgreens grown in wool outperformed those grown in cocoa-coir in terms of water requirements and longevity.
